Hello. Long story short. I work at a psychiatric hospital and was attacked by a patient yesterday. He tried to pull out clumps of my hair in the crown area. I quickly pushed him away so he couldn't pull them out completely but there was definitely some hair pulled. (I can see a lot of my hair on the desk where I was attacked. and also on the floor.) However it isn't visible. My hair looks fine from the outside but my scalp kind of hurts right now. It has a very very slight burning sensation in those areas and apparently my wife told me that the scalp was slightly red. Yesterday when I ran my fingers through those areas a lot more fell out than usual. Like 2 or 3 per swipe. I am concerned that this weakened or damaged my hair scalp/follicle because it was pulled in clumps (or tried to) so it did more damage than pulling out one by one. Should I be worried? Will this lead to hairloss in my crown area because it weakened my scalp? I am not going through a hair loss right now. (yet?) Thank you very much for the help.

Like any skin irritation get the swelling down. I've in a towel cool rags...avoid pulling hair. When swelling is down try witch hazel. Wear a hat to keep hair from being pulled. Above all avoid getting your hair in grab distance from that patient.
