Hello In male pattern baldness the hair follicles become sensitive to Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) a hormone that produces testosterone resulting in the falling out of hair follicles. For hair transplant a hair transplant can only be performed by harvesting dihydrotestosterone (DHT)-resistant hair from the back of your own scalp. The hair on the sides and back of the head is generally not sensitive to DHT and hence during hair transplant this non-DHT sensitive hair is usually taken and transplanting it to the thinning and balding areas at the front and crown of the head. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
