So scared...

I'm new to this community...and I wish I didn't have to be here. ( same as the rest of you ) I've been losing hair slowly over the past few months my hair getting thinner and thinner. Yesterday I was watching TV; I ran my fingers through my hair and a very large clump fell out. I now have a smooth as a baby's bottom bald spot on the side of my head. It's larger than a golf ball and just as round. I haven't decided on what to blame it on yet...stress menopause ( still in peri mode ) or some sort of other problem. I've read that ( because of the amount lost in a round pattern ) that it's more likely to be Alopecia areata...which ( from what I can gather ) is caused by my own body fighting against me. Regardless of cause how do you deal with this? Should I run out and buy a wig and try like heck to pretend that this isn't happening? Do I stop washing and brushing my hair? Do I just sit in a corner and cry until I fall asleep? I'm having trouble coping because my hair was the ONLY nice thing left on me. I'm not a vain person...I'm the complete opposite. I had my teeth removed ( unnecessarily ) a couple of years ago. Turns out the pain was from my sinuses and not because my teeth were bad as a greedy dentist said them to be. So now no teeth no hair...and I look like bleep. I've always had issues with my self esteem...and now I've been driven even further back. How do the rest of you cope? Any success stories out there? Would love to hear from you.

Hello Causes of hair fall could be like nutrients and proteins deficiency in the hair cells emotional or physical stress hormonal imbalances dandruff and serious illness like a tumors infectious disease and Alopecia areata. You need to pay attention to your diet. Your hair needs vitamins and minerals to grow that it can only get from the bloodstream. So if you want to speed up your hair growth and thickness you should limit the intake of fat and salts. Selenium zinc and magnesium are some of the minerals that your hair needs and also amino acids and vitamin E will help in growing hairs. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
