methadone and hair loss does it make you lose your hair

I have been on methadone for 7 years and have been tapering off for nearly 3 years down to 2mgs/day now. About 2 1/2 years ago I lost a LOT of hair and it has not grown back this is so upsetting any thoughts? My iron was low and I have been supplementing it for a long time now and it is in the normal range and is being absorbed so that cannot be my problem I was hoping it would grow back with the iron supplement this is devastating
