I've been addicted to all opiates besides heroin for about 6 years. I'm 21 now. My question is is my addiction my fault? I'll be more specific. I hurt my back when I was 15 and one of my family members gave me 1 hydrocodone and after the first time I was hooked. Through out the years the family member kept on giving me opiates because that family member is the one that got me addicted so that family member feels guilty. So since I was about 15or16 I have been given opiates from that family member. So my question is...is my addiction my fault? I was just a kid when I started. I never wanted this. Some people are more prone to get addicted or more accurately put "physically dependent" on opiate than others.
