Hi. I have been thinking that my fiancée has been drinking in the afternoon whilst looking after our 2 children for a few weeks now. When I have a few cans the next day when I come home from work she says can't believe you drank 8 cans last night when actually I had drank 5 as I count before I go to bed. But today I caught something. There was a can on the kitchen table she hadn't put it in the bin. I confronted her asked her her reply was 'I had two cans this afternoon as I was stressed' . My inclines after these few weeks is her breathe she constantly smells of alcohol and she did today! She currently is signed off work with PND but I don't know how to handle this. Any advise would be great. Thanks in advance

I understand your concern for the mother of your children and it is admirable however your drinking 5 beers in one sitting is just as concerning as her drinking two. The fact that you can not talk openly about it with her tells me that there are some issues in your relationship that need to be resolved such as trust and control. The best thing would be to eliminate all alcohol especially daily intake from the house if it leads to distrust and discord. Your kids deserve to have two sober loving parents who have a caring and close relationship. Good luck
