is strongly recommended not to give honey to a child until they are over a year old due to Honey may contain botulism spores which can lead to botulism poisoning which can be fatal. Babies under 1 years old do not have their digestive system mature enough to fight against the botulism bacteria as adults do. Hoped this helped you.
