rapid rise in cylinder power in left eye

hi all I turned 40 this year and went for an eye exam and doc told me my left power has become -4.00 -5.25 from -4.00 2.75. She said my cornea is steepening. I have been a stay home mom for all these years and took up a full time job doing medical chart reading for 9 hours a day without any breaks. Could this be the reason for my increase? I also have a very strong family history of retina detachment. Since the increase in prescription I can't tolerate computer work too much. Getting ocular headaches dry eyes and eye fatigue. Anyone with same issues?
