Breathlessness common with reflux?

Hi I am a 26 year old female. I have had a pretty healthy life until now with no major health issues. Unfortunately that changed 3 months ago. It all started one fine day when I was eating out at a restaurant and simply could not swallow any more and felt like something was stuck in my throat. Since then the stuck feeling became worse. I went to my physician who said it might be reflux and put me on 20 mg Omeprazole once a day. No improvement after 1.5 months. I went back to my physician and she referred me to a Gastro specialist. I got an endoscopy done and was diagnosed with MILD reflux - no ulcers or constrictions in throat no hiatal hernia. I got an abdominal ultrasound too and everything seemed normal. Blood tests showed little abnormal thyroid levels and ultrasound showed multiple nodules but my doc said it was not worrisome. Since about 2 weeks my reflux seems to have significantly improved but I get quite constipated and have this feeling of breathlessness. The breathless feeling usually comes if the time between meals is more or when I feel like I have gas. This feeling lasts for a few hours and unless I take some effervescent tablets and drink gallons of water and walk it does not go away. When I drink water I continuously burp. It is not like I do not have bowel movement at all - I go pretty regularly but its just this feeling of tightness and discomfort that occurs. It is really troublesome and has started to freak me out. I don't know if ER will even help because the feeling goes away and is not permanent. Has anyone with reflux had the same problem and if so have a diagnosis of what it might be? I am wondering if I might have IBS or something. Please help. This has made life quite miserable and I cannot wait to feel normal again :(

Hi People with GERD do complain of breathlessness though it is not a common symptom of GERD. Continue taking prilosec. Avoid coffee citrus chocolate tomato based products spicy food onion garlis. Avoid bedtime snacks. Go to bed 2-3 hours after food. Avoid large meals.Instaed small frequent meals would be better.
