I am 22 year old female. My indigestion started about 1.5 years ago. At first it was just acid reflux.. but then I noticed I was loosing weight(slowly) and getting full fast. I have been on omeprazole(prilosec 40mg) for about a year now. It helps.. but I still get indigestion time to time. I'm 5'6 and weight 110. I have lost about 17lbs. I don't really work out besides lifting weights every now and then. I would say I am a relativiley healthy eater and I avoid all the "bad" foods that make indigestion worse. I have tried eating as much as I can and it never seems to add to any weight gain. I make sure I sit up after I eat for a while but I wake up in the middle of the night with excessive gas in my stomach(right below belly button) that is crampy and hard to release. The only thing I can think of possibly causing this is that I did a low carb diet for 2 years which I stopped about 2 years ago when the indigestion started. I am so sick of living with these symptoms. I can't enjoy myself like I use to. I want to gain weight and have my curves back. Please help me. What do you think is going on with me????

It's unlikely the low carb diet is to blame two years later. You are young to be on such high doses of PPI's. If you haven't had a thorough exam by a gastroenterologist you really should. There are several things that could cause this and you need a good diagnosis.
