Grettings. my dad is 52 years old and lately his hamd shakes uncontrollably. he is a badminton player and a constructor so sometimes he needs to lift heavy stuffs with his bare hands. could that be the reason for his hand shake? there was once he experiencex extreme pain on his shoulder till he could not raise his whole hand. all these happen on his right hand as he is right handed. I am very worried about my dad please tell me all possible reasons that lead to this problem and should I take him to a neurologist (or expert from other fields)? thank in advance.

Hi! Thanks for your query! Shaky hands can be due to stress and anxiety too much consumption of caffeine or alcohol low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) autoimmune disease like multiple sclerosis thyroid disorders nerve compression in lower cervical or upper thoracic veretbrae and liver disease. Your father needs to cut down on smoking alcohol and coffee if he takes them in more quantity. Eat on time. Do deep breathing exercises. Please also consult your doctor regarding this. He will need some blood tests and maybe MRI for a confirmed diagnosis. Take care! I sincerely hope you will find this information useful in your journey towards better health for your father. Hope he gets well soon! Good Luck and take care!
