I am a 27 yo female and about two months ago during finals week my left thumb started twitching. It didn't do it for that long and I ignored it. One time it twitched for about 7 hours non stop. It hasn't done that for a while but for the past month I have been getting little twitches everywhere mostly in my calf but it has been in my face thigh butt arms and hands. I went to the neurologist and she gave me a full exam and said it was normal and that she couldn't think of a test to give me so I didn't have an EMG or MRI. She thought my thumb twitching sounded more like a tremor. Sometimes it's worse during/after exercise or when I'm hung over. I'm thinking about getting a second opinion and really worried that this is ALS MS or early Parkinsons. How likely is it that I may have one of these? I don't have any other symptoms like muscle weakness so I'm hoping that this is Benign Fascisculation Syndrome and is just due to anxiety. Although I have had anxiety before and never had these symptoms. I feel this happens even when I don't have anxiety. It does get better when I'm not paying attention to it like at school. In October I started having panic attacks and I'm wondering if they are related. I am a hypochondriac and really afraid of having a neurological disease. If I had a normal neurological exam could I still have those big three neurological diseases?
