hiv to aids in 3 years?

Doctor. I really need your expert advice. Im a male and had unprotected vaginal sex with a female in jan. 2005 three times. I have not had any sex since then and i don't do drugs. In may of 2007 i developed some symptoms like a itchy skin that i still have. A white coated tounge that ive had since may 07. And i feel like i have something stuck in my throut like oral thrush. Bruises on my arms that come and go. Genetal sores that last about a week and then dissapear. And last night i noticed that on the skin around my eyes there is a green /purple color and the skin is itchy. My eyes are also red and watery often. My questions are: I have tested negative for hiv1/2 antibodies in may 2007 but if i had developed aids would i still test positive for hiv antibodies? Do people with aids still test positive for hiv antibodies? Can someone catch hiv and develop aids in 3 years? (I do drink alcohol at least once a week for the last 3 years.) Do any of the symptoms i have sound like hiv/aids to you? The ones im worried of the most are the itchy skin or rash the white coated tounge and the green/purple coloring around my eyes. What chance do you think there is that i have hiv or have developed aids? I have tested negative for hiv1/2 antibodies in may 2007 and september 2007.

There is no way that you have AIDS. Persons with AIDS do have antibodies to HIV. If you had acquired HIV from the sexual encounter you describe you would have had antibodies on both of the occasions you were tested in 2007. As a result of this your questions about time to progression to AIDS and the your symptoms (which we tell persons repeatedly are of little value in determining whether one is infected or not) are irrelevant. My advice is to work with a primary care provider to determine what is causing your symptoms but to stop worrying about HIV. There is NO reason whatsoever for you to be concerned about HIV- YOU DO NOT HAVE IT.
