Welcome to the forum. It is only by chance I am responding to your question. Users should understand that Dr. Hook and I pay no attention to specific requests; we take questions randomly. Our advice and recommendations are always the same. Your family doctor was being careful and conservative: STD or HIV testing normally is not needed after a single episode of oral sex especially heterosexual. (The oral sex risk is somewhat higher between male partners.) Lets discuss your tests one by one: HIV: Oral sex is virtually zero risk for HIV and you definitely did not need HIV testing. But the duo test like you had is 100% reliable any time 4 weeks or more after exposure. No more testing is necessary. For more information here is a discussion of time to reliable results with various tests: http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/1891685 Syphilis: Although syphilis can be transmitted by oral sex syphilis is rare in heterosexual women and if you caught syphilis you would have had an obvious sore on the penis. The blood tests at 4 weeks is around 90% reliable; for a definitive result another test is needed at 6 weeks or more after exposure. Hepatitis: Oral sex is zero risk. You did not need testing at all and I see no need for another test. You can safely resume sex with your regular partner at this time. In fact there was no need to stop. Had I been in your situation myself I would never have stopped having sex at home and I would not have been tested for any infection. So no worries at all. If you need still more reassurance go ahead with your doctor's advice about follow-up testing at 3 months. The results will be negative.
