TRUSH ORAL ULCERS FARYNGITIS

dear Doctors Firtsly excuse my english level (I am from Spain) I am so scared as we have two contacts with sex works on October 30 (long fellatio) and November 15 (vaginal insertion with the condom on). On aprox. November 8 i started with painful throat and dry cough. November 16 I got oral ulcers (several) and white tongue (similar to thrush). On November 28 I had a Determine COMBO rapid test and was negative but the sore throat and oral ulcers/white tonge/thrush continue. I am so nervous... Do you thinks that I could be infected? Thank you very much

Welcome to our Forum. You should not be worried. First there are no cases in which anyone has been proven to get HIV from receipt of oral sex (fellatio) and condom protected oral sex. Thus even if one of your partners had HIV (which is unlikely-most sex workers do not have HIV) there is still virtually no risk for HIV. With your test results you now have proof that you did not get HIV. A negative combo test 28 days after an exposure is proof that you did not get HIV and should be believed. Most people who have thrush or oral ulcers do not have HIV- they typically have the sort of virus that most people get from time to time. Your case sounds a bit more severe than average but based on both your exposure history and your test results you can be confident that you did not get HIV. There is no need for worry or for more testing related to these exposures.
