I agree with the comment that was made by Vance on our Community site- your exposure was condom protected therefore despite the fact that your partner may have been having her menses it was a no risk event. Condoms do just as good a job of keep HIV and other STIs away when a partner's genital secretions are bloody as when they are not. I would add mostly as an FYI that there is not more blood present in menstrual blood than there are in genital secretions. In fact if a woman has an STI typically there is more HIV present in genital secretions than there is in the same person’s blood. Congratulations on your commitment to safe sex. There is no need for concern related to the exposure that you have described.
