Travelling Overseas with kidney stone

Hi I just found out that I may have a kidney stone. I am getting confirmation later today as I went for an ultrasound last night. I am scheduled to leave for Spain in 4 days. It is an 8 hour flight. I don't know what to do. Any advice?

olive 2015/5/6 17:30:42 Hello. You didn't say what initially caused you to seek the ultrasound where the kidney stone may have been discovered. Are you having severe to minor kidney stone pain and that caused you to have it done? I'd wait to see what your ultrasound results show but you sound pretty sure it is a kidney stone. If it is then find out how big the stone is where it is located and have a very serious discussion with your Urologist about the pros and cons of your upcoming trip to Spain. Be very careful if you do have a stone but also decide to still go on your trip about taking pain killers with you on your trip. Be sure to check and see if there could be any legal problems for you in Spain carrying prescription pain killers being narcotics. If it happens to be a fairly large stone and hasn't passed through your kidney yet I might be inclined to see if my Urologist could quickly go in and get it BEFORE my scheduled trip departure time. Otherwise the stone size and it's location now would be the factors that would determine what I would do. Please let us know what your results later today show and Good Luck!
