My husband was bleeding in his urine it was brown. Went to md he did a CT that day the next day said he needs to see a urologist. Any experience with these stones? There is no pain . FINDINGS: Noncontrast images through the collecting system shows a 2 mm calyceal nonobstructing calculi a left superior pole series 2 image 22. In the inferior pole left kidney there are 4 punctate calyceal nonobstructing calculi the largest of which measures 5 mm. No left-sided hydronephrosis or hydroureter. The right kidney shows in its inferior pole calyx a calyceal notch with a kidney stone measuring 0.5 x 0.6 cm in size series 2 image 32. Noncontrast images through the bladder show no obvious bladder calculi. Cortical medullary phase postcontrast imaging shows normal cortical medullary differentiation involving the left renal parenchyma and the right renal parenchyma. Nine minute delayed nephrographic/excretory phase imaging shows prompt excretion of contrast out of the left and right renal parenchyma and down the bilateral ureters. Contrast is seen descending down morphologically normal appearing ureters without diverticula or soft tissue masses. From what you've stated here your hubby definitely has several kidney stones and in both kidneys too. I would think that you probably have mis written the size of one of those stones by stating it was 0.5 x 0.6cm rather than mm. I could be wrong though. I'm pretty sure with the results of his ct scan and your hubby's brown urine his Urologist will want to take some type of action rather quickly. Kidney stones usually only cause pain as they are on the move and they can stop and start moving again a number of times over weeks or months before getting to the bladder. Your hubby's Urologist will explain all of this to him and I'm sure will be better able to evaluate his present condition and suggest a procedure to remove the problems. Please keep us posted on the Urologist and the recommended treatment your hubby gets from him/her.
