Can anyone tell me about a Ureteroscopy?

i have a 4-5mm stone stuck in my ureter just above my bladder. has not moved in 6 days. They want to do the ureteroscopy on friday or monday. Iv been in the er 3 times with an overnight visit. my question is what can i expect pain wise after they remove the stone? Obviously the pain in my flank should be gone but i hear alot of burning. any help would be great

I had similar but was with lithotripsy because my stone was embedded in my ureter. Am assuming yours is a basket retrieval? If you have to have a stent that's when it stings I believe. I actually had my stent before the surgery and had the stinging etc. with the stent in place. However you may have some pain in the ER depending on how the procedure goes. They will get that under control before you go home. Took me about a week to feel over it but others it takes 2 - 3 days .. depends too I would think on how sick you are before the procedure. If they are crushing the stone or the stone breaks off and is not fully caught you may have to deal with small pieces passing .. that can cause pain too afterwards. Good Luck!
