Wisdom Teeth Removal Under General anesthesia

I have to have several wisdom teeth removed (and also some cavities filled). This is because of a long term effect where my medications dry out my mouth. The oral surgeon determined after examining me that because I have advanced dysphagia this will have to be done in a hospital under general anesthesia. Is anyone familiar with this or had to have wisdom teeth removed under general anesthesia for any reason? I appreciate any information.

Seeking second opinion is advised. I don't perform surgical procedures under general anesthesia.
