I had a filling replaced 6 weeks ago and ever since I have pain when I bite down. Scratching the filling with my nail in a specific spot also creates the same pain. Initially flossing around that tooth was also painful but that has disappeared. I have returned to my Dentist to have it checked and adjusted which has provided no relief. Any idea what is going on?

Scratching on the surface of filling evokes discomfort may be associated with inadequate curing of filling material assuming the filling material is composite resin. Solution of your problem is redo the filling and more delicate bite adjustment
