How do I know when skipped heart beats are dangerous?

Had an ablation in 2002 because of re-occurring Afib. 1st 4 months after ablation I was actually worse but then everything settled down and I was fine till the end of 2012 when I landed back in the hospital with Afib. At 1st docs were talking pacemaker because my heart would go from 35 to 135 bpm but once I got out of the hospital after about 3 - 4 weeks things regulated to about 60 bpm. Needed to get all that medicine out of my system. Doc has since suggested stress and dehydration may have been the culprits. I feel fortunate and just pray I remain stable for as long as possible.
