So sorry to hear about your mother's condition. based on your description it sounds like she has end stage liver disease. Is she seeing a hepatologist (liver specialist) ? If not I would recommend she see one. A hepatologist will know best how to treat her symptoms and keep her comfortable. You may want to post on the Cirrhosis of the Liver community. You will probably get more responses there. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your mother at this very difficult time.
