Can cortisone injections damaged a liver?

Could you be more specific about the dose and frequency? I've been getting cortisone injections in my knees and hips for several years. I don't know the dose but it keeps my whole body pain-free for almost 3 months. After 3 months I get more shots. One of my (non-ortho) docs told me a couple of years ago that I had layers of fat in my liver. I'm 72. Should I care? The orthodoc is now refusing to give me any more shots. I've already had my cataracts replaced and the cortisone doesn't seem to have damaged any of my joints. Without the cortisone the pain spreads all over my body like fibromyalgia and I'm just short of "paralyzed" on the ability scale. Please tell me what dosage and frequency you consider safe. What is a DNB?
