Cirrhosis Concerns!

) Could this pain be associated with cirrhosis with no other symptoms? This is very unlikely. PAIN is generally NOT a symptom of cirrhosis. 2) I understand cirrhosis could be sneaky but would any previous lab work have raised any red flags? Please see answer to #3 below... 3) Could I have advanced to cirrhosis from 6 months ago with lab work within normal range and a fatty liver US? At your young age - and with normal labs and imaging - it is extremely unlikely that you have any cirrhosis. Moreover a potentially serious condition like cirrhosis cannot be diagnosed over the internet. Your gastroenterologist (..or even better a hepatologist) is your best resource for the answers to these questions. 4) Does diabetes play a big roll on cirrhosis? I don't feel my father abused alcohol long enough to have developed cirrhosis. Could diabetes speed this process up? Yes diabetes is often a comorbidity with cirrhosis...and it's possible that poorly-controlled diabetes could also worsen any other concurrent medical condition - including any form of serious liver disease..

You should probably consult a hepatologist (liver specialist). Better safe than sorry. Good luck
