Is there a cure for nut allergy symptoms?

Hello Both me & my brother suffer from nut allergies especially Almonds but I can eat peanuts my brother cannot. We both have similar symptoms after exposure like swollen lips urge to throw up chest pain rash and sometimes flu like symptoms. My Question is is there a medicine that we can take as a relief of those symptoms ? I know that there isnt a cure for the problem but we just need something to take after exposure. Thanx

I think you mentioned that your brother has allergies to peanuts and that both you and your brother have allergies to almonds. Nut allergies are particularly worrisome. If I were you I would tell your brother not to eat any amount of peanuts or peanut butter. The problem with allergic reactions is that the reactions can and do get worse. If your brother continues to eat peanuts or peanut butter and I mean any amount the following things could happen which are life threatening - his throat could swell up to the point where it closes up and he cannot breathe. This is part of anaphylactic shock which can lead to unconsciousness and in extreme circumstances death." Anaphylactic shock can cause symptoms such as bluish skin coughing difficulty breathing dizziness hives nausea severely swollen eyes lips or tongue stomach cramps and wheezing. " Life - threatening allergic reactions can come on suddenly and progress very quickly. Reactions can occur within minutes. " Your brother sounds like he is highly allergic to peanuts. He should be carrying something called an EPI PEN. Your brother's family doctor needs to write him a prescription for an EPI PEN and show him how to administer the EPI PEN . EPI stands for epinephrine. Your brother needs to discuss his peanut allergy with his family doctor. You and your brother should also not buy any bakery goods in a store as these often contain traces of peanuts and other nuts. My advice to you and your brother is stay away from all kinds of nuts. Do not eat any kind of nuts. You should also discuss with your family doctor you allergy towards almonds. You say you can eat peanuts. If I were you I would not eat peanuts either. So I hope I have convinced you to stay away from all nuts. Tell your brother to also not eat any nuts period. You are both risking your lives if you eat any kinds of nuts especially in your brother's case peanuts. There are a lot of products now that have a peanut with a line through it which means the product is peanut free. Think seriously about what I have shared with you today. Your life may depend on it. The information in quotation marks comes from one of my health resource books called " Prescription for Nutritional Healing " ( Fourth Edition ). Allergies are no joke. They need to be taken seriously and as I shared with you allergic reactions after eating nuts can become life threatening. I wish you and your brother well.
