I want to get pregnant but I have to be on birth control to control my heavy periods... last time I wasn't on any birth control I ended up in the hospital because I lost so much blood. Can I still get pregnant if I don't take my pills during my ovulation days?

Hi! If you were my patient I would advise you that your heavy period might have been caused by failure to ovulate. This also causes infertility and sometimes the medications the treat one treat the other too. If not you should probably find out why your periods are so heavy--do you have fibroids? This should probably be sorted out before you try to conceive. Good luck!
