Okay I'm on my period week with the Nuvaring. Its my second month on the nuvaring. I got a period lastmonth. And now this month my period is 4 days late. I took a test yesterday and it came back negative. I have taken the ring out for sex which is allowed and its only out once a week for 20 minutes if that. I did this last month too. Why would I still not be having a period? I switched to the nuvaring before I was scheduled for 3rd depo shot. I hated depo and switched. I'm so scared...could I be pregnant and it isn't reading it yet because its too early or?:(

Hi! If you were my patient I would advise you that you are probably not pregnant since it sounds like you have been using the ring correctly. It could be some residual effect from the depo shot you are having that is delaying your period. OR some other effect from changing the birth control. method. I would suggest waiting the full week to see if your period will start if not repeat the test. At that point you should start your new cycle of birth control and watch to see if will have a period next time around. IF you don't have a period you should certainly contact your doctor then.
