OK I was on the mini pill but after I stopped breastfeeding I was told to change to regular birth control (which I'd ortho-tri cyclen). I haven't started my period yet. Should I start taking the regular pill or wait until I have my period. Should is it safe to keep taking the mini pill until I have my period or can I start taking the regular pill now.

Hi! If you were my patient I would advise you to go ahead and start the regular pill without waiting for your period. If you have any discomfort or concern that you might be pregnant do a test but if you wait for your period it might never come! If you start the regular pill you should start a regular cycle too.
