Hello.. I had my period on October 20-23.. then on October 28 my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex. Is it possible that I could be pregnant? Should I follow the calendar method which is safety to have a sex 5 days after the menstruation?

Hi! If you were my patient I would advise you that many women find the natural family planning method (the calendar method) safe and effective. It is certainly NOT 100% effective although much better than no method at all. You might wish to supplement with condoms or a diaphragm to improve your odds a bit or there are lots of other forms of contraception. Have a sit down discussion with your doctor at your next pap smear. Good luck!
