my son was saying few words when he was 1 year old. when he was 15 months old he stop talking and ive been asking the doctor he stop talking to all his appts. my daughter have austism and I don't see any signs of austism in him. my son is 29 months old. Could this be hearing loss or something else? he use to hate loud noises and this year he been having fluids in his ears from getting those head colds and last month he got an ear infection. he getting help for his speech and that's been a month now he getting help but still not saying words. He likes me to read to him and watches me when I talk or play with him. Most of the time I feel he is not understanding what im saying like when I say no you cant have that or no we cant go outside.

The pediatrician should check his ears for fluid build-up. Also it's a good idea to visit an audiologist for a hearing test. This will ensure he is hearing adequate sounds for words and learning speech.
