Though I don't believe I've actually lost my hearing at all I have had an odd sensation in my ear for quite a few weeks now - probably about a month. It feels like a mild version of the sensation you get when your foot or hand falls asleep - a bit tingly/itchy. Not really unbearable but at times worrisome and annoying. WebMD gave me 2 options (burns/chemical burns) that I definitely do not believe are the cause for this. Should I be worried about this?

Itchy/tingly ears are usually not serious but can be very annoying. Don't be tempted to scratch the ear canal or use a Q-tip. Itchiness may be a sign of a fungal infection. Try to keep your ear dry. Your doctor may prescribe anti-fungal drops. You may also try a vinegar/water solution. Seasonal allergies can also cause of itchy ears that can be relieved by taking an antihistamine. Some ears don't produce enough earwax which can cause the ear to become dry and irritated. However if too much wax forms the ear can feel plugged and cause temporary hearing loss.
