Hello I am 23 weeks pregnant and will be going to a drag race. Would this affect the baby's hearing in any negative way? Thank you.

Congratulations on your upcoming baby. Although the fetus is protected from most outside elements by amniotic fluid; prolonged or repeated exposure to loud sounds may raise the odds of the baby being born with some hearing loss especially at low frequencies. In addition excessive noise exposure has been shown to increase the chance of preterm labor although further research is necessary. Please speak to your OB/Gyn to discuss these concerns. Better to play it safe.
