On Sunday right out of the blue i had a popping in both ears and my wife kept saying i was yelling when talking to her. After about an hour or so my hearing came back but not completely. I am 38 and wear hearing aids since this happened i have been turning them up as loud as they can go but i'm still struggling to hear. This is driving my wife crazy and quite worrying for me. Hearing loss runs through my fathers side of the family and i'm concerned that i might of lost a lot more of my hearing hes anyone heard of something like this before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A popping sound in the ear is related to eustachian tube function which regulates the pressure in the middle ear. This popping sensation often accompanies airplane travel or upper respiratory infections. I recommend that you seek medical treatment from a physician that specializes in disorders of the ear. Middle ear problems can often be treated with medications with very good results.
