I am 37 years old. I am prone to ear infections. I do not hear certain tones (lower) and letter sounds (SC M N Ph F). I get motion sickness in a car but not on a boat or plane. I moved from Chicago to Tennessee and the pressure and ringing in my ears became more annoying. Even when I do not have ear infections I feel like something is in my ear. What casues that? Misc. Info: I do not get throat infections (no tonsils or no adnoydes) but I am prone to sinus infections. I appreciate any suggestions you my have. Thank you.

My suggestion would be to try doing a nightly nasal rinse. You can buy these kits in any drug store and the powder used in them is a soothing combination of salts and baking soda - not toxic or addictive! This will help keep your sinus cavity cleaner. Your Eustacian tubes are just on the other side of your sinus cavity so often you will manifest full ears or pain in the ears if something is wrong with either your sinuses or you have fluid build-up in the tubes. Not hearing lower tones or letters as you describe is very common among hearing problems and can be compensated for greatly with hearing aids. See an ENT doc and get a recommendation to an audiologist for a hearing test. I'm no doctor but definitely know about hearing problems having them myself for many decades.
