Hi! If you were my patient I would advise you to wait at least another week if not two before giving up. At five weeks we often do not see anything in the sac. A follow up scan should be done in about a week. Another option is to do quantitative beta hcg levels 48 hours apart to see if they are doubling. If so the pregnancy may be healthy. Good luck!
