walking

does walking alot change a women hormone levels i walk every where i have no choose cant drive do to medical reasons so i walk not everyday but at least 3 times a week just 4 blocks at the most that is it my mid sis said walking alot can take away ones period or cause early menopause . but i did this all my life i cant under stand why she think it would effect me now iam 35 i have seen over my life if i just lay around i dont get my period but iam exercising i do my period was 6 days late 3 months ago i freaked out . my period been right ever since . my mid sis is freaking me out or is ther some truth to it bluecresent

Hi! If you were my patient I would advise you that typically exercise doesn't affect a woman's cycle much unless she is excercising ALOT--such a marathon runners or professional ballerinas might do. Stress can affect the cycle so if your stress level is improved by exercise that could affect your cycle somewhat. If your periods are very irregular at 35 you might have a condition such as Polycystic ovary syndrome or a thyroid disorder and you should speak with your doctor. Good luck
